![]() Tiziano Bagnati studied composition under Irlando Daniele at the “G. Verdi” Conservatoire in Milan where he took his final exams in classical guitar under Ruggero Chiesa. He then devoted himself to the philology of early music by studying theorbo and lute under Paolo Cherici, Jaco Lindberg, and Hopkinson Smith qualifying “cum laude” at the Conservatoire in Milan. In his performance commitments he plays as soloist in various ensembles. He has performed with Europa Galante, Concerto Italiano, Complesso Barocco, and since 1994 he plays on a regular basis with the Accademia Bizantina directed by Ottavio Dantone, making recordings and concert tours to the most important musical venues. He has taken part as a basso continuo player in baroque operas staged in operatic foundations like La Scala in Milan, the City Theatres in Florence and Treviso, the Fenice in Venice, the Massimo Theatre in Palermo, the Semper Opera House in Dresden, working under such conductors as A. Curtis, N. Roger, R. Muti, F. Biondi, G. Garrido, J. Savall, O. Dantone, R. Alessandrini, R. Clemencic, and K. Montgomery. He can be heard on recordings for radio and television companies including RAI, RS, BBC. Radio France, Deutschland Radio, and Radio/Television of Israel and has recorded for EMI, Virgin Classic, Decca, Ricordi, Tactus, Thymallus, Sarx, Opus 111, and Stradivarius. He has taught in the Conservatoires of Parma, Vicenza and Milan, and is currently teaching lute in the Conservatoire “Benedetto Marcello” in Venice. |
