Diego Mecca - Viola PDF Print

Diego Mecca, born in Ravenna in 1975, began studying the viola under Prof. Luciano Bertor, and took his exams as an external student of the Conservatoire “B. Maderna” in Cesena in September 1998, receiving  9.5 / 10 as a final mark. In August 1993 he received a grant  to study at the “Rassegna Violisti Studenti” in Vittorio Veneto; in 1995 he attended the  “2nd Course for orchestral formation” in Vicenza; from 1996-7 he took part in chamber music and orchestral  classes  at the School of Music in Fiesole and in 1998 in some seminars of the AFOS courses in Ravenna.
In February 1999, at the “Ridotto” of the “Alighieri Theatre” in Ravenna  he held a concert offered by the Rotary Club in Ravenna for the assignation of grants for the best exam candidates.  At the same theatre in October 2000 he performed as viola soloist along with the first violin, Paolo Chiavacco of the “Fone Quartet” in the Sinfonia Concertante K364 by Mozart.    He plays in various symphonic orchestras including “Orchestra Sinfonica “of Emilia-Romagna and the  “Arturo Toscanini” Philharmonic Orchestra  as well as the orchestra of the “Carlo Felice” Theatre in Genoa. He performs baroque music on a regular basis with “Europa Galante” and the Accademia Bizantina in the most important concert halls throughout Europe.
