Hdb divisione eventi/AB Accademia Bizantina Orchestra is looking for an Administration and Production Manager

Accademia Bizantina (AB) was founded in Ravenna in 1984. Since 1996 it has been directed by Ottavio Dantone, a true expert of Baroque expressive codes.

His method, forged by experience and an ongoing philological study, has allowed AB as an orchestra to approach any repertoire with awareness and honesty. In 2011, Alessandro Tampieri joined the ensemble and became the new concertmaster.           

Accademia Bizantina  has recorded for Decca, Harmonia Mundi, Deutsche Grammophon, Naïve, Alpha, Onyx, HDB Sonus.

The orchestra has received prestigious international awards and collaborated with the likes of Viktoria Mullova and Giuliano Carmignola, countertenor Andreas Scholl and alto Delphine Galou. In the year 2021 Accademia Bizantina was ranked first orchestra in Europe and second in the world at the Gramophone Awards.

Accademia Bizantina has performed in the world’s most renowned theatres and festivals (Carnegie Hall, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées, Concertgebouw, Staatsoper Berlin, Theater an der Wien…).                


Job details:

Working closely with the general manager, the artistic direction and the musicians of Accademia Bizantina, the applicant’s main tasks will involve the administrative management of the orchestra and supervising the production planning and logistics, assisted by the project manager.

Possessing a solid professional experience, as well as a passion for classical music and excellent interpersonal and management skills, they will be the contact person for all orchestra musicians and our institutional and collaborative partners.

In detail, their main tasks will include:

  • Administration and budget management of AB, in agreement with the controller;

  • Drafting of release and co-production contracts with concert halls;

  • Drafting of artist contracts;

  • Supervising production schedules;

  • Production budgets;

  • Cast and musician convocations, in agreement with the general manager;

  • Care and development of AB’s institutional relations, in agreement with general manager;

  • Public and European invitations to tender: application and research of new opportunities;

  • Coordination of the music festival “Libera la musical”;

  • Working with a labour consultant and handling notices, invoices and payslips.



  • Bachelor’s and/or Master’s degree (II level) in Cultural Activities Management or related disciplines;

  • Fluency in the English language;

  • At least five years’ professional experience in a similar position;

  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends (with compensatory time off);

  • Good understanding of the technical requirements of a baroque orchestra;

  • Aptitude for dealing with stress and unforeseen circumstances;

  • B driving licence;

  • Additional spoken languages will constitute a plus;

  • Proficiency with the Office suite and Google Drive;

  • Proficiency with Orféo software will constitute a plus.


Contract form to be agreed upon with the candidate.

Gross annual salary: 34000 euro.

Based in Emilia-Romagna, mainly Bologna and Bagnacavallo (RA).
